Just enough time to wish each other an early Happy New Year and it was back to work as the second half of the Old Lady's season began today.

The Italian champions were back in training following the Christmas break with one aim in mind: get 2015 off to the best possible start with a win in the Derby d'Italia.

The return to action after eight days off saw the squad split into groups over two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Pereyra was also involved in the latter, following his return from South America.

Marrone and Caceres rejoined the group for the morning session. In the day's second workout meanwhile, Andrea Barzagli did some running on the pitch.

The last players to train today, as agreed with the coaching staff and management, are Arturo Vidal and Carlos Tevez. The pair will follow a personalised programme this afternoon.

Tomorrow, New Year's Day, the Bianconeri will be back in training in the afternoon. The Inter match is drawing nearer and the reigning champions want to secure another three points on Epiphany.
