Angelo Ogbonna says the Bianconeri are already thinking about righting the wrongs of yesterday’s reverse in Genoa by getting three points on the board when they visit Empoli on Saturday night.

The defender revealed the mood in the camp is one of focus and the players are determined to taste that winning feeling again after a last minute goal in Liguria consigned them to their first Serie A defeat of the season.

Speaking on Jtv’s 'Filo Diretto', Ogbonna began: “High expectations are part and parcel of our situation but we’re perfectly calm and know we have to keep focused on the final goal. We slipped up yesterday, but we’re immediately in action against Empoli and we’ll look to bounce back.”

The 26-year-old believes Juventus will have to work hard for a result though, predicting the newly-promoted Azzurri to adopt the same defensive approach as many other teams who line up against the reigning champions.

“We’ll come up against the same difficulties we found in Genoa. Teams when they play us tend to defend deep and it’s difficult to find space in which to operate. We need to be alert to counter-attacks and show a more clinical approach.”

After the final whistle in Tuscany on Saturday, Juventus will immediately turn their attentions to Tuesday’s Champions League fixture against Olympiacos, with victory an absolute must.

Ogbonna is under no illusions of the importance of cancelling out last week’s 1-0 reverse in Athens and believes the supporters will have a key role to play in spurring the team on to success.

He concluded: “We’ve got a chance of going through and we’ll have to give it our all. In addition, the fans’ support will be fundamental and I call on them to be our twelfth man on Tuesday evening.”
