Paul Pogba has eyes firmly fixed on double figures for the season after netting his eighth goal of the campaign in this afternoon’s 2-0 victory over Chievo at Juventus Stadium.

The 21-year-old, whose stunning opener on 60 minutes set the Bianconeri on course for today’s triumph, says he will keep working hard on the training ground in order to continue delighting his adoring public.

Speaking to reporters after this afternoon’s win, Pogba began: “I’m more clinical this year. I’m fortunate enough to get off a few more shots and thankfully the ball’s going in. I need to keep on working and doing what I’m doing for the fans and the club.”

The French international’s strike came at the ideal moment for the league leaders, who had found Chievo a tough nut to crack up until the breakthrough.

“Chievo defended very well but perhaps tailed off a bit after the first goal. It wasn’t easy. We put in a great display against a very tough team.”

Pogba concluded his interview by lifting the lid on his brief on-field discussion with team-mate Arturo Vidal, who was consoled by the Frenchman as he departed the action on 62 minutes.

“We’re a group and a family. I told Arturo that he had been a bit under the weather and that we needed him. He’s a great player and we want him 100 per cent fit for the other games.”
