“We need to keep playing and push for a second goal. Lazio will look to get back on level terms."

These were the words spoken by Paul Pogba to Sky during the half-time interval after giving Juventus a 1-0 lead at the break.

Fast forward to the final whistle and both the Frenchman and his team-mates were celebrating a 3-0 victory that saw them open up a three-point gap over closest rivals Roma at the summit of Serie A.

Speaking once again to the broadcaster after a man-of-the-match performance at the Stadio Olimpico, Pogba began: "I'm happy with my double. We played well when we had the ball and also defended well when they were in possession."

Evidently buoyed by tonight's victory, there’s no time to digest the result seeing that preparations for Wednesday evening’s Champions League encounter at Malmo lie in wait for the Bianconeri from tomorrow onwards.

And Pogba ended his interview by insisting his team-mates need to keep their heads when facing the newly-crowned Allsvenskan champions: “We’ve got a great team and can get out of our Champions League group, but we must be focused from start to finish and play as we did today.”
