The Bianconeri Primavera marched on through to last eight of this year’s Primavera Cup this afternoon, edging out Livorno in a five-goal thriller to set up an encounter with either Torino or Empoli in the next round.
Albert Roussos put the hosts a goal to the good after 15 minutes and swiftly restored his side’s lead soon after Gabriele Morelli had pulled Livorno level seven minutes later.
The visitors failed to lie down though, with Giacomo Favilli setting up an intriguing second half by netting an equaliser eight minutes ahead of the break.
As the clock ticked down towards the final ten minutes, Sergio Buenacasa popped up with the winner to wrap up a quarter-final tie against the winners of Torino and Empoli, who go head to head on Wednesday 10 December.
