Helmut Haller will go down in history as one of the greatest attacking midfielders of all time.

During his five-year stint at Juventus, the German playmaker won two Scudetto titles and delighted the Bianconeri faithful with his excellent dribbling ability and wizardry.

One of Helmut’s most decisive appearances in the black and white jersey came during the must-win final game of the 1971/72 season against Vicenza. The German opened the scoring in a 2-0 win for the Bianconeri sealing the club’s 14th Scudetto in the process.

In the following campaign, Helmut formed part of a devastating midfield trio alongside Antonello Cuccureddu and Franco Causio that was instrumental in sealing back-to-back league titles for Juventus. The midfielder, who would have been 75 today, moved back to his homeland with FC Augsburg at the end of that season after scoring 32 goals in 171 appearances for the club.

Helmut passed away in October 2012 but his memory continues to live on in the hearts of Juventus and football fans alike.
