Rizzoli to run the rule over Fiorentina clash

Nicola Rizzoli has been confirmed referee for this Friday’s Serie A clash between Fiorentina and Juventus at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The 43-year-old, who officiated this year’s World Cup final between Germany and Argentina in Brazil, is to preside over his 25th Bianconeri encounter in Italy’s top flight, having previously overseen 11 victories, eight draws and five losses in that time.

Rizzoli was the man in the middle for last season’s corresponding fixture and also refereed 2009’s 1-1 draw between the two clubs in Turin.

He will be flanked in Florence by assistant referees Stefani and Faverani, goal-line officials Banti and Russo and fourth official De Luca.
