New signing Romulo has pledged to give all he can to extend the Bianconeri’s winning run after completing a “dream” move to the club from Hellas Verona.

The 27-year-old midfielder, who joins on an initial one-season loan deal, says he will spare no effort in helping Juventus to build on the success enjoyed over the past three seasons.

Speaking to reporters at his official unveiling in Vinovo, Romulo began: “I’ve known of the club’s interest for a few months now and am very happy to join a winning team, it’s a dream come true. I’ve made plenty of sacrifices to get to where I am today and I will keep fighting to help Juventus continue their winning run. I’ll give all I’ve got for the club, my team-mates and the city.”

The Brazil-born Italy international, whose impressive performances during Hellas Verona’s first season back in the top flight earned him a call-up for the Azzurri, acknowledges that competition will be fierce on both domestic and European fronts, but believes the team’s winning mentality will ensure the good times can continue in Turin.

“Winning in Europe isn’t easy but I’m sure Juventus will go far. The club has brought in some fine players and continues to strengthen the squad. There are many strong teams in the running for the Scudetto, of which Juventus are one. We’ll see what happens, but I’m sure that everyone’s firmly fixed on winning another title.”

One of Romulo’s key characteristics is his ability to cover several different roles across defence and midfield, and he confirmed his desire to put such versatility to good use over the course of the upcoming campaign.

He concluded: “I met Allegri today and had already previously spoken to him. He asked me which was my preferred position, and I told him that I’m capable of operating anywhere down the right-hand side. I’m here to help the team and will play wherever I’m required.”
