Juventus inflict the Blucerchiati’s first home Serie A defeat of the season, a result which sees them reconfirm their title of Serie A champions for a 33rd time

The Bianconeri reconfirmed themselves as Serie A champions for a 33rd time following Saturday evening’s 1-0 triumph over Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Despite only needing a point to secure the league title, Massimiliano Allegri’s men ultimately came out with all three after Arturo Vidal’s first-half header settled a tight encounter against a Blucerchiati outfit who were boasting an unbeaten home record that dated back to May 2014.

Vidal, who also scored the Scudetto-deciding goal versus Palermo at the culmination of the 2012/13 season, kept up his 100 per cent record of bagging strikes in Juventus league victories this season (Cesena, Palermo, Torino, Cagliari and Napoli).

Furthermore, last night’s feat signalled that the Old Lady have won the Scudetto with four match days to go for the first time since three points were awarded for a win in Italy’s top flight.

Here is a closer look at the standout statistics from Liguria:

    Two

Shots on target the Bianconeri limited the hosts to at the Luigi Ferraris - officially the Blucerchiati’s lowest figure in 2014/15.

    Three

Out of the last four goals the Old Lady have scored in their previous two encounters, three have been headers.

    Four

Tackles won by Stefano Sturaro, a statistic he shared with fellow midfielder Vidal.

    Five

Assists delivered by Stephan Lichtsteiner, a joint-record among defenders in this Serie A season.

    Eight

Good long balls provided by Leonardo Bonucci throughout the course of the encounter.

    Eight

The number of lay-offs Fernando Llorente completed for his team-mates.

    19

Clean sheets Juventus have now kept this season, more than any other side in Italy’s top flight.

    56.3

Percentage possession bossed by Allegri’s Bianconeri.

    77

Successful passes threaded by matchwinner Vidal, with the Chilean also creating three chances, making six interceptions, performing eight recoveries and leading the way in terms of touches (107) during a tenacious display.
