Paul Pogba scores but France are held to a 1-1 draw by Serbia in Beograd

In Sunday evening’s solitary match involving the Bianconeri, Serbia fought back to salvage a draw against France in Belgrade.

The French got off to a great start when Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba met Remy Cabella’s corner to side-foot home early on from all of four yards.

The 21-year-old cut an imposing figure in the middle of the park throughout the friendly and was replaced by Blaise Matuidi on the 74th minute mark whilst Patrice Evra remained an unused substitute.

Les Bleus pushed hard for a second but were left to rue their missed chances when Aleksandar Kolarov’s long-range set-piece fizzed past Hugo Lloris into the bottom corner of the net with nine minutes to play.

Today sees three Juventus players in international action as Martin Caceres’ Uruguay, Stephan Lichtsteiner’s Switzerland and Kingsley Coman’ s France Under-21 side all take to the field later.

After Friday’s composed 2-0 friendly victory over the Japanese, Caceres and La Celeste will be hoping for much of the same as they take on South Korea in Goyang at 12.45 CET.

The Swiss begin their quest to be among the teams at Euro 2016 when they host England in Basel from 20.45 CET.

Elsewhere, Coman and the French youngsters will want to end their UEFA European Under-21 Championships qualifying group in style with a victory against Iceland in Auxerre at 21.00 CET.
