The Bianconeri regrouped in sunny Vinovo this morning for the first of two Wednesday workouts designed to get them into optimum condition for Saturday evening’s Serie A curtain raiser against Chievo.
Back on the training ground following a two-day absence was Massimiliano Allegri, who, with the exception of fellow flu victim Fernando Llorente , was joined on the Juventus Center pitches by a full complement of players.
Last season saw the Bianconeri begin their campaign on a winning note through a solitary Carlos Tevez strike against Sampdoria, and Allegri will be hoping for the same victorious outcome when he sends his troops into battle at the Bentegodi this weekend.
In their bid to break down what is sure to be a well-drilled Chievo outfit, Juventus dedicated the majority of the session to tactical preparations, with a particular focus on moving the ball around as a unit.
On the injury front, Andrea Pirlo continued to train separately as he aims to shake off the bruised thigh sustained during Saturday evening’s Trofeo TIM meeting with Milan.
After enjoying lunch and a few hours’ downtime, Juventus will tackle their second training session of the day later this afternoon.
