A memorable seven days in the life of Carlos Tevez drew to a close with one of the finest goals Juventus Stadium has ever witnessed.
The 30-year-old, a thorn in the Gialloblu ranks throughout this afternoon’s 7-0 triumph, looked back and reflected on a week in which Champions League and international aspirations were reignited before being capped off by a stunning second-half solo effort against Parma that will live long in the memories of all present.
Ahead of linking up with his native Argentina, Tevez, at the double in today’s win, said: “It was important to win today and now I’ll enjoy heading off on international duty. It’s like a prize as far as I’m concerned.”
On his incredible strike, he added: “When I went one-on-one, I knew I’d have the chance to shoot if I could just get past Costa. I then took the ball on to my right side and wrong-footed the keeper who was expecting a much stronger strike. I judged it well.”
