Despite drawing first blood with this evening’s 2-1 win at Juventus Stadium, Carlos Tevez insists the Champions League last 16 tie with Borussia Dortmund is far from over.

The Argentine, who shot the Bianconeri into an early lead on 13 minutes, says the nature of the competition and strength of those involved in its knockout stages means there is plenty more football to be played before thoughts can turn to a quarter-final place.

Speaking to the media in Turin, the 30-year-old began: “It will be a tough return leg, nothing’s ever done and dusted in the Champions League. Even if we had won 3-0 we wouldn’t necessarily be home and dry.”

Tevez claims he is satisfied with the team’s overall performance and believes they were good value for the win on an entertaining night of European football at a packed out Juventus Stadium.

“It was a good game and a positive result for us. Up until their goal, which stemmed from our mistake, we had the upper hand, then we regained the lead and performed well for the rest of the encounter.”
