With just two days remaining until Saturday’s Serie A campaign gets underway in Verona, Juventus raised the intensity of their preparations in a solitary, but intense, workout at the club’s Vinovo training complex.

Tactics are truly at the forefront of the manager’s thinking as the Bianconeri aim to get the better of a well-organised Chievo outfit and, following yesterday’s double focus, Allegri continued to guide his men through the specific moves to be deployed when the team run out at the Bentegodi this weekend.

Missing out on today’s session was Andrea Pirlo, who underwent an MRI scan to assess the full extent of the damage sustained after picking up a bruised hip during Saturday’s Trofeo TIM tournament in Reggio Emilia.

The scan revealed a pulled tendon in his rectus femoris muscle, an injury which is expected to keep him sidelined for 30 days. The midfielder will continue his rehabilitation programme and undergo further tests in 15 days’ time.

Ahead of tomorrow’s departure for Verona, Allegri will meet the media following the team’s final training session in Vinovo, with his press conference scheduled for 13.00 CET.
