Paolo Valeri has been named referee for Saturday evening’s Serie A match-up between Sampdoria and Juventus at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

The 36-year-old is to take charge of his 17th encounter involving the Old Lady in all competitions, with the club’s record under his tutelage currently standing at seven victories, five draws and four defeats.

Valeri, who hails from Rome, has already run the rule over three Bianconeri fixtures this season: November’s 2-0 defeat of Empoli, the Super Cup final versus Napoli at the end of 2014 and March’s 2-1 Coppa Italia semi-final first leg reverse against Fiorentina.

He’ll be supported in Genoa by assistant referees Nicola Andrea Nicoletti and Claudio La Rocca, goal-line officials Piero Giacomelli and Michael Fabbri and fourth official Riccardo Di Fiore.
