The FIGC has announced that the thirtieth anniversary of the Heysel tragedy, in which 39 innocent people lost their lives on 29 May 1985, will be recalled when Belgium host Italy in Brussels on Friday 13 November.

Representing Juventus in commemorating the deceased will be Paolo Garimberti and Mariella Scirea, who will join Andrea Lorentini, president of the Association For The Families Of Heysel Victims, FIGC president Carlo Tavecchio and CEO Michele Uva in placing a bouquet of flowers in front of the stadium’s Z sector on the day before the game.

The occasion will also see Italy’s number 39 shirt retired in honour of those who passed away on that tragic evening.

On matchday itself, a message will be broadcast when the teams take to the pitch and in the 39th minute, the name of each victim will be displayed on the stadium’s big screen.
