The vice president analyses today’s Champions League last 16 draw in Nyon: “Nobody is unbeatable and we’ve got what it takes to compete for a place in the next round”

Pavel Nedved says he is confident Juventus will be able to stand toe-to-toe with Bayern Munich in the Champions League last 16 after enjoying a convincing start to this season’s European adventure.

The vice president, speaking in Nyon, accepts that lady luck could have been a little kinder on the Bianconeri in today’s draw, but is backing Massimiliano Allegri’s men to pull out all the stops in their bid to overcome the reigning Bundesliga champions over two legs.

Nedved said: “We had hoped for a little more luck in the draw, but I’m confident that we can turn in two great performances against Bayern. We’ve had an excellent run in Europe so far this season. We were drawn in a tough group and did very well to come through it without too many difficulties. This means we’ll also keep fighting in the last 16.

“Nothing is impossible and you never know in football. We’ll approach the game with humility and desire, fully aware that we’re a strong team and have what it takes to compete for a place in the next round.”
