Today, on the dawn of the 2015/16 season, Massimiliano Allegri's men have their eyes firmly fixed on a potential fifth consecutive Scudetto. On this day 89 years ago, Jeno Karoly's Juventus side lifted the club's second domestic league triumph.

Just like Allegri's side nearly a century later, the Hungarian, the first manager of the Agnelli era, guided his team to the title undefeated at home with an astonishing record of 12 wins, drawing once.

The Old Lady's success was built on an impenetrable backline that conceded just six times over the course of the season. At the other end of the field, the Bianconeri were propelled to the top by the goals of Ferenc Hirzer, Mario Pastore and Federico Munerati. Together, they contributed to 70 of the team's 84 goals.

The Hungarian, Hirzer, was particularly unstoppable, ending the campaign with 35 in 19 appearances, a record of nearly two a game.

The striker would nearly repeat the feat the following year as he ended his Juventus career with 50 strikes in 43 games.

In the November 1926 edition of Hurra Juventus, the magazine offered this summary of the team's achievements that year, stating their success would lay the foundations for years to come:

"Great perseverance of will and spirit will allow us to continue the way we are now: not only as Champions of Italy but also as an essential force in Italian football."
