There was a degree of symmetry about this weekend’s J-Academy action as not only were all three of the Bianconeri’s youth teams involved in encounters with Ligurian opposition, but all three games finished with a 2-1 score line.

One of those, the only Juve youth win of the day, went to Felico Tufano’s U17 side, taking all three points against Genoa.

Falling behind to Bruzzo’s strike on 36th minutes after an even first 45, Tufano’s young guns rallied after the break, to first claw back the deficit and then to net a later winner.

For that, they had Massimo N’Cede Goh to thank, as the striker’s arrival from the bench shortly after the break was the catalyst for the Bianconeri’s revival. The Italy youth international made his mark on the tie moments after coming on; slotting home his side’s equaliser before popping up again 12 minutes from time to make sure Tufano’s boys went home happy.

It was a different story however for Juve’s U15s, losing 2-1 at home to Spezia. By contrast to the U17s, Davide Cei’s young guns took an early lead through Vergnano’s early strike on nine minutes.

That however was as good as it got for the Giovanissimi as Spezia hit back after the break, with goals from Pisano and Bellotti swinging the game in their favour. Though the Bianconeri pushed hard for an equaliser, their visitors dug deep and defended stoutly to take the points back to the Ligurian coast.

Fabio Grosso’s Primavera were also on the receiving end of a late sucker punch as a keenly contested encounter which saw red cards for both sides (Romagna for Juve, Cirrincone for Virtus) ended in defeat by the odd goal to Virtus Entella in Chiavari.

Conceding early on to Puntoniere’s effort on the half-hour, Grosso’s men pulled level 17 minutes after the interval through Muratore. With the game heading for a draw, Puntoniere doubled his tally three minutes from time to break Primavera hearts.
