After giving his side a 52nd minute lead from the penalty spot, Paulo Dybala and company played with a maturity and conviction to see out a 3-1 victory of utmost importance against Bologna at Juventus Stadium.

Speaking to journalists after the win, La Joya admitted however that the Bianconeri would need to cut out the errors that led to the Rossoblu scoring in the fifth minute with their opening shot of the match.

He began: “We need to continue working hard because we can’t keep conceding from our opponents’ first attempt on goal.

“We responded strongly and quickly found the equaliser. In the second-half we put in a convincing performance without giving Bologna a way back into the contest.”

The Argentine, who has been selected to represent his country in the Albiceleste’s upcoming international fixtures, explained how Gigi Buffon could not bring himself to watch the penalty that helped the Bianconeri on to a maiden win at home in the league this season.

“He asked me where I directed my spot-kick because he had obviously decided to look the other way.

“It was the manager’s choice to let me stand up and take it. There’s a great togetherness in this group. We simply want to win, it doesn’t matter who scores.”
