Juventus’ Primavera fought back strongly to record a convincing 4-1 victory away at Pro Vercelli on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts took an eighth minute lead when Luigi Bresciani scored moments after Andrea Favilli came close to putting the Bianconeri in front.

Nicolò Pozzebon almost drew his side level with an audacious lob in the 14th minute before Mattia Picone Chiodo struck the post for Pro Vercelli in what was growing into a highly entertaining encounter.

Just after the half-hour mark, the visitors stunned the home crowd with three goals in just nine minutes. First Favilli equalised with a header, then Pozzebon put them in front and finally Mattia Vitale added a third with an impressive shot on the turn, as Fabio Grosso’s men finished the first-half in emphatic fashion.

The hosts came out of the blocks strongly in the second period as they pressed to find a route back into the contest, but the Bianconeri held firm and always looked comfortable with their lead, which they increased in the 80th minute courtesy of Pozzebon, seeing out the win that moves them up to ten points in the table.

The Primavera will be looking to convert their domestic form into European success when they face Borussia Monchengladbach in next Wednesday’s UEFA Youth League clash.
