Last year’s Champions League finalists sealed their place in this season’s round of 16 after beating Manchester City 1-0 on Wednesday evening at Juventus Stadium.
But Claudio Marchisio is keen for his side’s latest achievement to mark the mere beginning of another march towards the competition’s latter stages after leapfrogging their English opponents into first place in Group D with one fixture remaining.
“This is the most exciting competition around and we’re keen to go as far as possible. Tonight was a tough match, as City are a side that can hurt you at any moment, but we had opportunities to double our lead.
“We’re continuing on the right path by not giving away many chances to the opposition and keeping concentration high for the full 90 minutes.”
Marchisio and company will now be fully focused on seeing out the group stages with another positive result that would see the Bianconeri guarantee top spot.
