Juventus President Andrea Agnelli and UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova both spoke of their delight after confirming the renewal of the successful partnership between both organisations this afternoon in Paris.

The news of a two-year extension was formally announced during today’s press conference to present the “Colour? What Colour” report - a pioneering study into the phenomena of racism and social exclusion in the world of football - and will see both parties continue to work together in tackling discrimination and promoting solidarity both on Italian soil and overseas.

Agnelli said: “Today we have renewed our fruitful partnership with UNESCO for another two years. It’s important for us as a club to take measures to fight against discrimination and encourage other teams to follow suit.

“With UNESCO we initially started out working on local projects, such as “Gioca con Me”, and now we’re reaching out even further afield with the UNESCO Cup, a fundraiser that supports our initiatives for the social inclusion of child soldiers in Mali and Central African Republic.

"UNESCO’s areas of expertise are in the educational, scientific and cultural fields and we look forward to working together for many years to come.”

Bokova added: “We are very happy to renew our collaboration with Juventus. Football is the world’s most diverse sport and can be an unparalleled vehicle for social inclusion.

"With the club we have set up important projects for child soldiers in Mali and the Central African Republic, helping vulnerable children reintegrate into society by learning a trade and acquiring new skills. We remain fully committed to promoting the values of fair play, respect and tolerance alongside Juventus.”
