The club’s summer signing from Sassuolo believes he is in the right place to fulfill his ambition of reaching the very top

Simone Zaza says that joining Juventus represents a “dream come true” for him.

The 24-year-old forward, who put the finishing touches on a switch from Sassuolo just 10 days ago, believes he is in the perfect place to fulfill the potential that prompted the Bianconeri to acquire his services on a permanent basis.

Hard work and sacrifice have got the Italian international to where he is today, and he is aiming to continue the upward trajectory that began when he burst on to the Serie A scene with the Neroverdi in 2013.

Speaking to the media at Juventus Stadium, he began: “Playing for a big club like Juventus is a dream come true for me. Now I need to get my head down and become the top player I aspire to be.

“It’s a step up I’ve always wanted to make, joining a big club is every player’s ambition, and it’s down to me to prove I’m up to the task.”

"Competition for places doesn't frighten me, I’m ready to show people what I’ve got to offer"

The arrival of a speedy and versatile forward player in Zaza offers Massimiliano Allegri an intriguing selection conundrum, with the likes of Mario Mandzukic, Alvaro Morata, Fernando Llorente and Kingsley Coman also vying for attacking berths.

Along with his preferred position, Simone was also asked about the prospect of lining up alongside fellow summer signing Mandzukic, whose virtues were extolled by the Italian during his reply.

“I’ve seen Mandzukic in action on plenty of occasions and he’s a real fox in the box. I don’t know if we’ll play together but I hope the opportunity will arrive.

“I’ve featured as part of a three-pronged strikeforce since last September and play in a two-man frontline for Italy. I don’t know which system would suit me best, but the most important thing is to play.”

For now, gaining a regular first team spot represents Zaza’s primary goal and he is eager to seize any chance to shine in the black and white stripes.

“Competition for places doesn’t frighten me, it’s something I was already prepared for when coming to Juventus. I’m ready to show people what I’ve got to offer.”
