A testing evening, a competitive and physical 90 minutes but most importantly three more points for league leaders Juventus.

This, in summary were the thoughts of Alex Sandro in the aftermath of the Bianconeri’s 1-0 victory over Palermo at the Stadio Renzo Barbera on Saturday evening. Reflecting on a below-par but ultimately successful performance from the league leaders, the Brazilian had this to say of his team’s second victory in three days:

“The most important thing is that we won; tonight’s was a difficult match and we prevailed by keeping our cool. You can’t expect to score three or four goals every game and all that matters is that we’ve overcome this difficult test.

“Both the squad and myself personally are working day in and day out to improve and we want to demonstrate to ourselves and to the fans that we are as prepared as possible for what lies ahead this season. Playing away from home always presents its own challenges but we have the quality to go anywhere and get the results we want.

“In the form of Dinamo Zagreb, we have another potentially difficult encounter coming up next and it is one that we absolutely must win.”
