Alex Sandro calls for the Bianconeri to complete the miraculous comeback he has always believed they would accomplish this weekend in Florence

Another barnstorming performance down the left wing on Wednesday night against Lazio, another win, another step closer to completing a perfect debut season in style for Alex Sandro.

As the man who supplied the crucial assist for Juan Cuadrado’s last-gasp winner against Torino to set Juventus on their way to a record-breaking run of form tracing all the way back to late October, who better to ask about the Bianconeri’s comeback and date with destiny this weekend than the Brazilian himself?

Sitting down with the Jtv cameras after Juve’s first training session ahead of Sunday’s potentially decisive trip to Fiorentina, the flying full-back reaffirmed his faith that the league-leaders, once languishing in mid-table in early November, would finally register the points required to make them champions for the fifth consecutive year.

Here are a selection of key quotes from his exclusive interview:

The dash to the finish line

“Every point is precious at this stage of the season. In the final rush to the finish line, we can’t afford to let our performances slip or think about anything other than winning. We’re doing exactly what is required at the moment and the good results are the fruit of the whole squad’s great work in the last few months.

“I believed right from the start that we would have a successful season one way or another. Whenever I have spoken about our prospects, I have always said that we have the quality to win the league. Now it is up to us to give our all and make sure we become champions as soon as possible.”

Toro, City, Milan: The Assist King

“I’m delighted to have set up some crucial goals for my team-mates in this run and I’m always looking to improve both defensively and offensively. Credit for that must go to the technical staff here who have helped me advance my game enormously already.”

      Acclimatising to calcio

“I feel I am really getting to grips with Italian football and all the tactical, mental and physical changes that it demands of you. Thanks to the coach, I’m learning something different about the way the game is played here every day in training and that will only continue in the future.”

      Every game a final

“We’ve approached every game in our run-in as if it were a final and it will be no different against Fiorentina this weekend. As for the Coppa Italia showpiece against Milan, there will be no surprises about the way we play: we’re going there to win.”
