It was a long wait but Paulo Dybala's patience paid off when he made his return to competitive action against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday following a six-week layoff.

The Argentine forward, who had been sidelined since picking up an injury against AC Milan in October, came on in the 79th minute of the Bianconeri's Champions League contest against the Croatian outfit at Juventus Stadium.

He had barely ten minutes on the pitch but it was enough to show everyone that he's lost none of his touch as he immediately got involved in the team's attacking play and even lined up a couple of shots at goal.

“I couldn't wait to get back out there,” he explained after Juve's 2-0 triumph, which secured top spot in Group H.

“Training is just not the same as playing a match. I felt ready for it as I've been putting a lot of intensity into my training.

“I might not have 90 minutes in me yet but I'm match fit. I'd felt no issues in the last few days and I felt none out there today either."

Massimiliano Allegri of course now has to work out where Dybala fits into his team.

The man himself admitted: “I don't know where I'll play. I just know that I can slot in anywhere in attack: centre forward, second striker or even in the hole. I'm happy playing anywhere.”

Paulo ended with a word on Monday's draw for the round of 16: “We should fear no one because we can hold our own against any team.”
