Two days before the 31st anniversary of the Heysel Stadium tragedy, Turin honoured the memory of the 39 victims with two official events taking place in the evening.

Immediately after sunset, one of the city’s principal landmarks, the Mole Antonelliana, lit up with the message “+39 Respect” to commemorate the innocent lives cruelly taken away on 29 May 1985.

Meanwhile, in Turin’s city hall a second event, organised in collaboration with support association “Quelli di Via Filadelfia,” took place, in which two documentary films were shown: the first entitled, “Do not forget Heysel” and the second concerning the Luzhniki Stadium tragedy in Moscow of 1982, in which 60 people were killed during a UEFA Cup match.

A Juventus delegation was in attendance at tonight’s events with the club pendant also on show yesterday in Brussels.
