Andrea Barzagli had been called up by Antonio Conte to represent Italy, but has since returned to Turin after reporting discomfort in the femoris muscle in his left thigh. The defender will rest for two whole days before undergoing further tests. As a result of Barzagli's absence from the Azzurri's upcoming international friendlies, Conte has selected fellow Juventus player Daniele Rugani, who is promoted from Italy's Under 21s.
