Juventus put on a real show for their Australian followers in Melbourne this evening, taking to the stage to greet supporters who made the trip to adidas’ Speed of Light Arena for the sponsor’s “Light Up Melbourne” event.

“We’re happy with the welcome we’ve received,” opened Massimiliano Allegri. “We’re working well here and now have two important tests against Melbourne and Tottenham which will enable us to prepare for the season ahead. These games will be useful for us to assess our fitness.”

Juventus Legends president David Trezeguet said: “adidas wanted to choose the best and thanks to the job done by the boss and the players, we hope to achieve even more success. The new signings will make a strong contribution to this team. The aims are clear: keep winning and growing. Alongside adidas we can achieve these.”

“It’s my first time in Melbourne,” added Hernanes. “I still haven’t been able to visit the city, seeing as we’ve been training hard, but soon we’ll have the opportunity to do so. It was a long flight, but it’s been great to see how the fans have welcomed us.”

Last to take to the microphone was Miralem Pjanic, who travelled to the Speed of Light Arena via a Jeep, where he was joined by an adidas competition winner whose day was made complete when the Bosnian hopped on board as a surprise guest.

“I was here in Australia last year and it was a wonderful experience,” said the midfielder. “I’m happy I’ve been able to come back with Italy’s best team. It’s a wonderful atmosphere and we’ve now got two difficult games ahead of us. These matches will be important as far as preparations for our Serie A opener are concerned.”
