Juventus president Andrea Agnelli took part today in a debate on corporate sustainability. The event, organised by Turin-based coffee-making giant, Lavazza, had the aim of bringing together two well-renowned businesses of the city to discuss the increasingly important topic and one which has already been at the forefront of both companies’ minds of late.

Between 13 and 18 June, Juventus and Lavazza joined efforts in Colombia’s renowned coffee-growing region of Meta to promote sporting values as part of their work towards an innovative and integrated sustainability programme.

“We are an example for many fans and young people. For this reason, it is fundamental that we are perceived as being responsible,” Agnelli said of Juventus’ ever greater commitment to sustainability, which has indeed seen the club lead the way in this regard within the world of football.

A few months ago, Juventus Stadium hosted the European Club Association’s very first workshop on this topic, while the Bianconeri are also taking to the next level projects such as “Gioca con Me”, launched in collaboration with UNESCO in 2012 and extended this season to Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, Lebanon and Tunisia.

The club’s continued work with UNESCO manifested itself earlier this month in a Soft Skills Manual, designed for Juventus Academy coaches and aimed at guaranteeing the best possible education to young people both on and off the pitch.

“We oversee the personal development of approximately 600 children, helping them to grow not only as footballers but especially as people.”
