Milan captain Ignazio Abate and coach Vincenzo Montella look ahead to Friday's Super Cup final against Juventus in Doha

Milan coach Vincenzo Montella and captain Ignazio Abate have called on the Rossoneri to do their supporters proud and bring home the Super Cup trophy on Friday night against a "formidable" Juventus team.

Meeting the media at the Al Sadd Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, the pair had this to say of the showdown between the competition's two most successful clubs:

    Vincenzo Montella

"We know full well that we are coming up against the team that has dominated in Italy for years and has been built to win the Champions League. Juve are tactically very flexible and are characterised more by their quality all over the field and their winning mentality. We should look to use their strengths as a point of reference in the future - an objective which I would say we are already a good way to completing - while also looking of course to combat them tomorrow. We must at least match them for tenacity and commitment and then look to impose ourselves on the game from there."

    Ignazio Abate

"We want to bring home the trophy for our President. This Super Cup final gives us a chance to right the wrongs of the Coppa Italia in May and we would love to lift the cup. We have held our ground against Juve in all of our last four meetings with them and while we know it will be a tough game, we have what it takes to cause them some difficulty. We have always risen to the occasion in big games and we will look to do so once more tomorrow night."
