Presenting the new 2016/17 adidas third kit

Tradition and innovation combine to create a thoroughly eye-catching design by adidas for Juventus’ third kit ahead of the upcoming campaign.

The shirt, unveiled today by the Bianconeri, features a striking zebra pattern on the sleeves, paying homage to the 90’s in which the club’s crest was briefly replaced with a zebra.

The result is that the main body of the jersey remains predominantly white, in contrast to the home hit which favours more the Old Lady’s other longstanding colour of association, namely black.

Accompanying adidas’ launch of the third kit is a video starring Miralem Pjanic, Paulo Dybala, Alex Sandro, Giorgio Chiellini and other members of the squad, as part of its new First Never Follows film series.

The series – featuring some of the biggest clubs, players and managers in the world – provides a defiant response from a number of footballers to the intense level of hype that surrounds each team in the build-up to the start of the 2016/17 season.

In the film dedicated to the Bianconeri, an opposition supporter is imploring Juventus to lose and reacts angrily when they score. Meanwhile, the players use the fan’s negativity to buoy their own performances and demonstrate the on-pitch craftsmanship that shows they are ready to turn on the style and succeed again in the upcoming campaign.

As well as donning the new third kit in this video, Juventus’ players also debut adidas’ Speed of Light boots – the ACE 16+ PURECONTROL in Solar Yellow and X16+ PURECHAOS in Solar Red – which will be worn on the pitch for the start of the 2016/17 season.
