Fabio Grosso’s young guns are on the cusp of qualifying for the knockout stages of the UEFA Youth League after beating Sevilla’s Under 19s by two goals to nil this afternoon in Andalusia.

The Bianconeri raced out of the traps to take a 1-0 lead inside just three minutes when Luca Clemenza scored a fine solo goal.

The visitors then held firm to protect their advantage – a job they did very well with Juve keeper Mattia Del Favero barely ever tested – and they would double their money on 63 minutes when Andi Zeqiri capped off a lighting quick counter-attack instigated by the bright Fabrizio Caligara.

Today’s win sees Grosso’s charges move into first place on nine points with Lyon, but boasting a superior goal difference to the French outfit’s.

Victory in their final group game at home to Dinamo Zagreb on 7 December will guarantee the Primavera’s progress to the last 16 as category winners, while a draw would still suffice in terms of qualifying for the competition’s knockout stages.
