They say that Melbourne is one of the sportiest cities on the planet and, following the Italian champions’ cruise down the Yarra river earlier in the day, football continued to steal the spotlight this evening as Juventus Legends president David Trezeguet checked in at the adidas store to the delight of the Australian Bianconeri fans present.
Those queuing eagerly in the street to get a sight of the Juve hero were not to be disappointed as Trezeguet sent a host of supporters home happy with autographs and photos aplenty.
Joining the Old Lady’s former frontman, a guest of the club’s official sponsor throughout the day, were national sport stars Carl Valeri – captain of Melbourne Victory, Juve’s first Jeep 2016 tour opponents – and Australian Rules Football player and Hawthorns icon Cyril Rioli. Together, the trio posed in front of the Coppa Italia and Scudetto trophies captured by Juventus in the season just passed before exchanging jerseys.
