With reunions for Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Barzagli and Simone Zaza and first arrivals for the likes of Marko Pjaca completed yesterday, Massimiliano Allegri’s men kicked off the second phase of their season plans in earnest on Wednesday morning in Vinovo.
Indeed the Tuscan’s squad – with exception to Leonardo Bonucci who has been granted a leave of absence – underwent a high intensity session under the Turin sun, working on possession drills and tactics before moving into a small-sided match to close proceedings.
The team will have lunch together as a group and are expected back at the training ground for a further fitness workout this evening.
With the team’s next friendly fixture in London against West Ham now just four days away and the first competitive match of the Serie A season within three weeks, this is where the hard work begins.
