6th Scudetto at stake

“We need to be aware that, along with the Turin derby, tomorrow’s match in Bergamo is crucial in terms of inching towards a sixth straight Scudetto. Therefore, we must not think about the Champions League, but do everything we can to win tomorrow.

“This is a high stakes month in which we’ve a double header against Monaco between ourselves and the the Champions League final, while we’ve also points to pick up in the league.

“If Roma were to win all of their remaining games, they’d reach 91 points, which means we need another eight.”

Outstanding Atalanta

“Atalanta are enjoying an excellent season and credit must go to their manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, as well as the whole club.

“They’re a team brimming with quality and led by a top coach. We have to remember that, while for us this match is significant for the Scudetto, for Atalanta it’s a huge moment in their bid to qualify for Europe.

“They know they can’t afford to let points slip away at this late stage of the season. Meanwhile, we must not give any potential lifeline to Roma and their title hopes.”

Team news for tomorrow

“Daniele Rugani suffered a knock in training yesterday and so won’t be available for the Atalanta match. Meanwhile, Kean is returning to full fitness following his injury and tomorrow afternoon will play for the Primavera.

“Dani Alves, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini and Alex Sandro will line up in defence with Gianluigi Buffon back between the sticks.

Gonzalo doing great

“Gonzalo Higuain is a top-class player and works incredibly hard for the whole team. He came here to lift silverware, he’s joined a group of winners and things are going really well both for him and the rest of us.”
