Our Brazilian left-back comments on tonight's 2-0 victory: “Pleased with my goal but the team must take the credit”

On the day Juventus racked up a 30th consecutive home win in Serie A, Alex Sandro capped off an impressive 90 minutes by netting the crucial second goal in our 2-0 triumph against Empoli.

The Brazilian's clinical finish on the turn finally killed off the visitors' resistance after they had frustrated Juve for long periods in the first half.

“They're a tough side to play against,” the 26-year-old admitted after the final whistle. “They're good on the ball and they work hard for each other, but we played well.

“I'm pleased with my goal. It was a decent strike but the team must take the credit.”

It was a good night all round for the Bianconeri as fellow title hopefuls Napoli dropped points at home to Atalanta, yet Alex Sandro insists it changes nothing for Juve.

“We're not looking at other teams' results. Juventus have to focus on being Juventus. We respect the other sides but we concentrate on doing our own jobs.”
