Massimiliano Allegri celebrated his 100th Serie A match in charge of Juve with a precious and convincing win as his side produced another excellent display against Cagliari at the Stadio Sant'Elia, capped off by two strikes from Gonzalo Higuain.

"Higuain is in his element in the box," stressed the coach. "But what matters most is his hard work for the team. He's in great shape and has brought us something different. The same goes for everyone, be it [Paulo] Dybala, [Mario] Mandzukic, [Juan] Cuadrado or [Miralem] Pjanic."

"We're on the right track," continued Allegri. "But we have to keep working because once Cagliari went down to ten men, [Gigi] Buffon had to make a great save and that can't happen. In fact, we should have put the game to bed by scoring a third goal and keeping the ball. We had chances but we didn't take them.

"We have a lot of work to do in how quickly we shift the ball, move and occupy the space. We took our foot off the pedal a little tonight, but it needs to be full throttle from now until the end of the season."
