Gigi Buffon claimed Juventus got their attitude spot on after they triumphed at San Siro on Saturday night.

“We went into the game with a humble approach and were even more determined than usual to sacrifice ourselves for one another,” the Italy keeper explained.

“We knew how important this match was and what difficulties we would face but we clocked on to what we had to do to come away with the points.”

The captain added that he felt Gonzalo Higuain deserved his two goals before predicting a bright future for Daniele Rugani.

“Gonzalo put in a fantastic shift for the team in Udine and today he got the glory too as his goals helped us to win the game.

“Daniele is a very talented and reliable player. Obviously it's not easy to come into a top-level team like Juve and look like an experienced head straight away. A young player needs time and he has to be allowed to make the odd mistake as well.

“I think the club and the coach are going about things the right way with Rugani to ensure he becomes a mainstay of the Juventus defence for years to come.”

Finally, the skipper offered his take on the title race, with the Bianconeri currently playing catch-up on Napoli.

“At Juventus you can win seven and draw one of your first nine games and people are still not satisfied. So far Napoli and Inter have won more so they deserve to be ahead of us. We just have to keep knocking out the wins and make the most of big games like this one tonight to ensure we don't lose any ground.”
