“We're glad to have gone through against a team like Atalanta who play really good football. We fell away towards the end and we mustn't let that happen”

He broke the deadlock with a superb strike then laid on a peach of an assist for Juve's second against Atalanta, so it's little wonder Paulo Dybala was pleased with his own performance.

After netting his second goal in as many games, La Joya feels his hard work on the training ground is paying off.

“I'm training well during the week and I think it shows during the match. I managed to score today and set up [Mario] Mandzukic as well so I'm really happy with my performance.”

Having taken a 2-0 lead, the Bianconeri seemed to have the game wrapped up – only for Atalanta to fight their way back into contention.

“We're glad to have gone through against a team that play really good football and Atalanta are having an excellent season, but we fell away towards the end of the game and we can't let that happen.

“We mustn't drop the tempo after we score, which is what happened when we scored our third tonight. We have to keep the ball and see out the match because, as we saw today, there's always a risk the other side can come back.

“We'll get stuck into the league again now. We have a tough game against Fiorentina but we need to keep pushing on.”
