Victories for Olympiacos and Sporting, whilst Barcelona draw

Juve's next Champions League opponents, Olympiacos won 3-1 on Saturday against Apollon Smyrni at home. The away side went ahead in the 23rd minute through Eli Elbaz, but Olympiacos hit back with a goal from Omar Elabdellaoui in the 31st minute to go into half-time level. The home side gained the advantage through Karim Ansarifard 10 minutes from time, and the Iranian netted again four minutes into stoppage time to put the result beyond doubt.

Meanwhile in Barcelona, the hosts were surprisingly held to a 2-2 draw by Celta Vigo, but still remained clear at the top of La Liga by five points. The away side took the league through Iago Aspas after 20 minutes of play, but their lead was short lived as Lionel Messi replied just two minutes later. In the second half Barca went in front through Luis Suarez, but the Blaugrana were pegged back in the 70th minute, with a goal from Maxi Gomez to tie the game.

Finally, in Portugal, Sporting CP beat Belenenses on Friday night 1-0 after a penalty from Bas Dost in the 12th minute. The result draws them level with Porto at the top of the standings, who themselves were held 0-0 at Benfica in O Clássico.
