Juventus and adidas mark the club’s 120th anniversary with a limited edition kit – on sale today in 1897 samples – which the Bianconeri will wear against Benevento

What better way to celebrate Juventus’ 120th birthday than to treat oneself to a shirt that not only marks the occasion in style, but one that will remain a collector’s item for many, many years to come.

1897 – the year in which the Bianconeri were founded by a group of students in Turin – is also the number of limited edition kits on sale today.

The design represents a throwback to the club’s kit from the early 50’s. The inside of the neck-line includes a ‘Sign Off’ with the anniversary dates and takes inspiration from the first ever Juventus emblem.

There is a modern look to the shirt too: besides the unmistakable black and white stripes, there is a wide back panel on the reverse of the jersey – a feature which has been re-introduced to the Bianconeri’s current home kit.

Noticeably the shirt is missing the infamous club crest, instead solely featuring three gold stars. Each star represents 10 league titles and is a symbol which has featured on every club kit since the 1994/95 season.

To honour the club’s 120-year anniversary, the sponsor logos have been stitched black-black onto the right chest (adidas and Jeep) and on the back panel (Cygames).

The 1897 jerseys are available to buy today at Juventus Official Online Store and official stores in Italy.

The kit will be worn on-pitch for the first and only time when the Bianconeri take on Benevento at Allianz Stadium on Sunday 5 November.
