From one big match to the next. After bringing back three important points from Naples on Friday night, the Bianconeri were already beginning preparations for Tuesday’s Champions League encounter in Athens, where they take on Olympiacos (20.45 CET kick-off), looking to seal their passage to the round of 16.

The players were greeted by plenty of snow on their return to the north-west of Italy: those most heavily involved against Napoli underwent a warm-down session in the gym, while the rest of the squad worked on fitness out on the pitch.

Massimiliano Allegri's men are due back in Vinovo tomorrow morning.

INJURY UPDATES

Benedikt Howedes has sustained a tear to the rectus femoris muscle in his right thigh and is expected to be out of action for a prolonged period with a possible return date no earlier than the winter break. This timeframe will be better established over the coming weeks.

Stephan Lichtsteiner is undergoing his rehabilitation from an injury to the flexor muscles in his right thigh, for which further therapy is required to ensure a gradual recovery.

Meanwhile, Mario Mandzukic is doubtful for Tuesday’s trip to Athens. The Croatian forward is being monitored on a daily basis after reporting an injury to the calf muscle in his left leg during Thursday’s training session in Vinovo.
