Appointed Olympiacos manager only yesterday, these are busy days for Takis Lemonis who leads his team out for the first time in tomorrow night's Champions League contest against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.

“It’s all happened very quickly,” opened Lemonis. “Yesterday I held my first training session and today’s will only be my second.

“I’ve spoken with the players. We need to do our best to overcome the challenge of facing a top team like Juventus. We’re not just here to make up the numbers and we want to make sure that we end the match satisfied with our performance.

“That said, we also need to be realistic, because the Greek league is completely different in terms of intensity to the Champions League.”

Lemonis was quick to acknowledge that, in the Bianconeri, his team are coming up against a side enjoying a rich vein of form at present.

“Juventus are performing very well. Paulo Dybala is in great form at the moment, and even the guys that sit on the bench are fantastic players."

Olympiacos goalkeeper Silvio Proto echoed his manager’s words, emphasising the scale of the challenge that awaits them at the Allianz Stadium.

“Tomorrow we’re taking on one of the biggest clubs in the world,” admitted Proto. “It will be a very difficult match and we have to give absolutely everything.”
