Umberto Agnelli passed away 13 years ago, on 27 May 2004, but his name will be forever linked with Juventus: the club he loved and also ran from 1955 – first as special commissioner, then as president the following year – until 1962. In that time, the Bianconeri won three Scudetto titles, in 1958 (the club’s 10th), 1960 and 1961.
Agnelli would return to the helm of Juventus in 1994, beginning another trophy-laden era both at home and abroad. These included the Champions League in 1996 following a league and cup double in 1995. It would take 20 years for the club to secure their next domestic double, a feat they have now completed in their last three seasons.
Juventus dedicates its latest Serie A and Coppa Italia successes to Agnelli on the anniversary of his passing.
