The Tuscan tactician urges the Bianconeri to enter the October international break on a high ahead of Saturday’s match against Udinese

    Always a battle in Udine

“Udinese are a force on the counter-attack and they're full of pace. They've lost the last two matches, so we must not be complacent but make sure that we're on top of our game tomorrow in order to enter the international break on a high.

“Playing away at Udinese is always a battle and we'll need to approach the match with focus and determination. On a technical level, it may not be the easiest on the eye.”

    Squad news

“Sami Khedira and Daniele Rugani are out of action, Mattia De Sciglio is back available again, while Douglas Costa will return for the Genoa match. Meanwhile, Wojciech Szczesny starts in goal.

“Tomorrow I could go with a front three of Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo, or alternatively one of them could be rested. Juan Cuadrado is in good form and his assist the other night has provided a boost.”

    Raising the bar

“The team has improved significantly in quality thanks to the club's investment in recent seasons and we'll see whether we're a better team at the end of the campaign. We've won a lot over the years and only the Champions League is missing.

“One aspect we need to work on right now is to find greater continuity in defence by keeping consecutive clean sheets more often. I repeat: tomorrow is a match that will ask a lot of the players both physically and mentally, so we must be prepared for that.”
