Massimiliano Allegri heaped praise on his Juventus team after they defeated Torino 1-0 in the Derby della Mole on Sunday lunchtime. "I’m proud to have a group like this, with such strong moral values," said Allegri, speaking after the full-time whistle. "I was expecting this kind of performance from the team, especially in terms of our passing game and technical quality.
"This was our fifth away game in seven matches. It was important to win against Torino, who hadn’t lost or even conceded at home [under Walter Mazzarri]." Despite a gritty performance during which the Bianconeri showed great character and desire, Allegri refused to be drawn on the idea that this could be his best Juventus team yet. "They’re different teams and lots of players have come and gone over the years," he said. "We’re still in all the competitions and we need to try to go as far as possible."
