Following his exploits for former club Real Madrid on their path to winning their 13th Champions League title, Cristiano Ronaldo has been nominated for the UEFA Men's Player of the Year 2017/18 award.

Ronaldo, who faced Juventus in last year's quarter-finals, has been shortlisted alongside ex-teammate, Luka Modric and Liverpool's Mohamed Salah. CR7 was the Champions League's topscorer for an incredible sixth year in a row, netting 15 times in 13 matches, as he helped Real Madrid to win a record third successive title.

In addition to being named as a potential UEFA Men's Player of the Year, Ronaldo has also been nominated for UEFA Champions League Forward of the Season 2017/18, where he faces competition once more from Salah and Barcelona's Lionel Messi.

The winners will be announced on Thursday 30 August at the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League group stage draw in Monaco.
