JUVE LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK

Last weekend Juventus Women lost their first ever match as they fell to second placed Brescia 1-2 at Vinovo.

The visitors took the lead after just four minutes of play, as a cross went over goalkeeper Laura Giuliani and onto the crossbar and Brescia’s Alicja Daleszczyk was left to slot home. Benedetta Glionna thought she had drawn parity when she put the ball into the back of the net on 17 minutes only to see her effort ruled out for offside.

Daniela Sabatino then doubled Brescia’s lead with a tap-in to give the away side a 2-0 lead in Turin by half-time. Despite Lisa Boattin stunning long-range effort in the second half, Brescia were able to cling on for the win and as a result bring an end to Juventus Women’s 17-league match winning streak.

FIORENTINA FIGHTING

Last season’s champions, Fiorentina find themselves in fifth place this year, having arguably performed inconsistently over the course of the campaign. Although they have essentially nothing to play for with regards to the league, Fiorentina are still competing for the Coppa Italia so won’t want to let performances drop when Juve come to town.

Fiorentina were able to score 10 goals over their last two matches, conceding just once, beating Zaccaria 4-0 at home and then Fimauto Valpolicella 6-1 away. Tatiana Bonetti and Ilaria Mauro are the side’s topscorers with nine goals in all competitions to their names.

Earlier this season Juventus Women beat Fiorentina 2-0 in Vinovo, thanks to a Martina Rosucci double.
